Kreg Multi Mark Tool

Great little gadget and deffinately worth buying!  I have used mine repeatedly since purchasing it right before starting the ottoman I am building right now and am really pleased with its performance so far; it is already covered in dried glue and pencil marks:-)  I have used it for height and distance, router depths, and even to set up some miters...I can't say enough good about this handy tool!  Thank you Kreg folks for making my "job" a little easier in the woodworking and construction world as I am sure it will be quite beneficial on my next home imrprovement project as well!

 

Note the Multi Mark laying on my work surface covered in sawdust!

I really would like to need a Multi Mark but so far I do not see anything that it will do that I cannot already do with with a combination/adjustable square.  What am I missing here?

Larwyn - you are missing nothing, really, you can do everything with your combination square, but, the Multi-Mark is sometimes more convenient to use and it is definately more comfortable in your hip pocket.

Agreed here, about the only thing it can do a combo square can't is it can also be used as a story stick. Provided the item you want to record is between 6 and 12". I'm not really wild about having to disassemble the thing to set it to a 45*. And yes, I do have one and yes, what I'm missing is about 20 bucks.

I couldn't agree more, tomboy. There are tons of small detail jobs that you can't get into with a full size combination square. And many kudos for the reveal setting gage. Talk about a time saver. And it fits in a shirt pocket. I've got big plans for mine.

I did finally purchase the Multi Mark a couple of years ago.  After giving it a chance I agree that it is much more pocketable than an adjustable square as well as less likely to break if dropped on the concrete floor.  Handy as a pocket on a shirt, mostly because it is more likely to actually remain in the pocket.
