The Kreg clamps are good, especially the right angle clamp. I own many clamps of all kinds and feel that it is one of the most important tools in the shop. I was in a hurry to get going with my projects and did not want to wait for shipping (I live in a remote area that does not have stores that carry much of anything. So I bought welding clamps which are basically the same regular Kreg clamp. You can get the various depths in the throat area and the surface area of the clamp face is quite adequate. You can also get a drill press clamp that works like the bench clamp. I mounted mine to a piece of 1 1/4 granite that I had left over from a kitchen remodel. It was great and meets some of my particular needs. It's certainly not as portable as the Kreg jig clamp but I throw it on my work bench, the floor, or on saw horses.
