I have been having an issue with the K5 jig. Sometimes when I am drilling the pocket holes at 3/4" it seems like the drill bit hits the depth retaining pin allowing the depth to slip down to 5/8" causing the hole to be to deep. Has anyone else had this problem? I love the K5, it is a real upgrade to the R3 I had been using.

Thanks for the pics from so long ago.
Much appreciated.
Got caught out on this over the last two days.
Even though we were checking it regularly.
We still got caught out on slipping to 5/8"
Grrrrrr.
Lock the pin. Place the palm of you hand on the top where the three holes are for the drill bit. Push down applying pressure and and move your hand in a circular sanding motion.
Constantly slips down.
Not happy with that.
Will try make a stop block to fit into the housing beneath the depth block.
Not happy at all.
Post analysis:
Drill bit needs replacing or sharpening.
Drill battery needs charging.
Either of these situation required more pressure to cut.
(we were drilling into 20mm hardwood)
From experience using just my arms for applying pressure has me aching for weeks afterwards.
Using my non-trigger hand on the back of the drill to apply pressure using CONTROLLED body weight keeps me from being sore.
Use just enough (body weight) pressure to progress the drill bit and stop applying pressure as soon as the bit stop bottoms out.
Have the drill spinning before entering the first hole and leave the drill spinning removing and drilling any further holes and again keep the drill spinning removing the drill.
So trigger on before inserting. Leaving it on thru all drills. Then trigger off after removing from last drill.

Hi. I'm wondering if anyone has used the Woodpecker Free Hand Guard for dust collection on their bench top router table during pattern routing. How effective is it? It's adaptable to any router table. Continue

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
