Kreg Jig Master System

I just purchase the Kreg Jig Master System.  I had purchased several for friends and relatives in the past and so I expected to see the same case arrive at my door.

I discovered that you have changed the case.  Although I am all for product improvements, I would like to know how all the components fit inside the case.  I looked in your forum and saw a reply from Kreg indicating the reasons why you changed the case.  Specifically, one reason was that the tool completely fits inside the new smaller case.

The tool arrived with the plastic case separate from another box that contained the clamp and dust collection attachment.

Can you show me a diagram indicating how you fit all the components of the tool inside the case?  I was hoping to use the larger case to contain extra screws and the right angle clamp that I purchased.

I will concede the clamps and store them separately, however, I do not want to dismantle the tool completely just to put it back into the original packing box inside the case. And what about the dust collection attachment?

Any help would be appreciated.

I think all of my parts fit in the case. Most of us mount our Kreg Jigs to a board, or to our bench. You'll never use it if it's in the case! ;)

Ian, thanks for the question... as you mentioned, we created the new case for several reasons...
1) Based on feedback from existing K3 customers, the vast majority left their jig out of the case permanently after the first use, causing the large, single-purpose, case to simply take up room in their shop.
2) The new case is smaller, more compact, easier to store.
3) The new case holds every piece of the Kreg Jig, just as the old case did.
4) The new case is free of pre-molded plastic which limits your use of the case to securing the jig. By simply using a pliers to remove the few plastic tabs, the new case can be completely flattened and used to hold almost anything.
5) The new case keeps prices down and prevented us from having to raise the price of the tool. Partly due to this case change, the new K3 comes with many features that the old one did not, including an improved clamp, SkillBuilder DVD, Spacer Block, etc.


Bob is correct, the parts to fit... tightly. For most people it does make sense to mount their jig to a board or to their workbench, etc. but for those that want to keep everything in the kit, that is definitely possible. I just went took a photo of a kit here so you can see how it can be done... even with the Faceb Clamp, although there are probably several ways to fit it all.

Ian, the Dust Collection Attachment connects to any standard 1-1/4" vacuum hose. If your hose is a different size, there are adapters available at a wide variety of retailers from Wal-Mart to your local hardware store.
