Kreg Owners' Community

I recently finished installing nearly 500 square feet of cedar 5/4 decking using the Kreg Deck Jig. I have a few suggestions for improvements to the product:

1. Put some kind of holder on the jig to hold the wrench used to adjust the depth stops. In the middle of a project, it was inconvenient to have to go back to the box (that I had left in the garage) to get the wrench.

2. The spacers need to have much larger flanges on them to keep them from falling between the boards. Also, the narrowest spacer (1/4") is still too wide. I found that the lip one the bottom of the jig that aligns it with the edge of the board is almost perfect for spacing 3/16".

3. It would be nice to have another guide at the edge of the jig that runs perpendicular to the board for fastening near a post.

Overall, the jig worked great. I would recommend it highly. My suggestions are just things that would have made things a little easier or quicker for me.
