Hi Jose, There are several of us who have built kitchen cabinets and have the photos posted to prove our work.

Justin Waldron, and Ray Vile come to mind. The best way to find them is to type in search requests in the search box in the upper right hand of the page with such commands as: kitchen cabinets, cabinets, cabinet doors, face frames and hinges.
I have my self wrote many articles on the subject of cabinet building and posted them here on the community. Another person whom I know that has a long experience is David Dean and he also has the photos to prove his craftsmanship. If you look at the photos posted by the members name you will get a good idea as to where you can find reliable help with questions and assistance. Since you have experience in remodeling and mechanical drawing you should be able to do well with looking at photographs.
The Kreg jig is what turned m…tag:kregjig.ning.com,2015-03-15:2900167:Comment:7174372015-03-15T01:04:34.466ZScotthttps://kregjig.ning.com/profile/Scott723

The Kreg jig is what turned me into a semi-pro cabinet maker!

Kreg used to have a downloadable 40 page introduction to cabinet building, written by Mark Duginske

I found it to be a most helpful first-introduction to cab building / design / measurements concepts when I was first getting started.

Jose,

Ken offers some valid advice. In addition I would either make or procure some right angle clamping guides to insure your cabinets glue up square. Also a check of your saws to insure blade stops are accurately set at 90 degrees. Trying to glue up non square pieces into cabinets is difficult at best and the results typically show.

Happy Building, Don

Hi Jose,

Re Building Cabinets

Kreg's Pocket Hole joinery will make it much easier.

Building cabinets is basically like building a box, adding a face frame and adding doors and drawers.

Cabinets can be simple or more complex---this depends on the tools you have and your wood working skill level.

I'd suggest getting some books on building cabinets, peruse them, and learn the applicable joinery methods, before proceeding.

Some of the first cabinets I built, were frame and panel construction, as well as solid cabinet grade plywood---with face frames.

Made cuts on a table saw, used an electric circular hand saw for long rip cuts, and using basic wood working tools.

Assembled with glue and finishing nails.

Added an applicable finish to the wood.

Having a router, hand-held and a router table, will produce some fine results.
