<p>Glenn, what you are doing is correct. You always want to set your jig for the thickness of material you are drilling into, which is 3/4" in this case. And then use screws for whatever thickness of material you are screwing into, which is 1/2" in this case. Since 1/2"-thick plywood is never quite 1/2"-thick, you may want to test it out on a piece of scrap plywood before you drive a screw into the material you are using for your project. <br/>KregRep</p>
