I have a couple of bushings to make a jig for drilling holes in a wood product. I hesitate the process of drilling the holes for the bushing because the directions call for a "press fit". How do you properly "press fit" the bushing?

Doug,
Sorry for the delay but had gotten off the laptop and was on the b-berry. Thumbs are not the best way to type a reply. What I will use the jig for is to drill holes in the edge of MDF to again use screws to attach a another piece of MDF. I was trying to be the Henry Ford of my neighborhood. As I understand you the best way to press the bushing in is to use the drill press. It never occured to be to use the drill press and so I Thank You for the idea. I have attached a thin ,05mm metal plate on both sides of the 1/2" wood and will drill throught this then press in the bushings. I hope it goes well. On the other hand would I be better to just start over and use the wood without the metal plate.
Happy Thanksgiving to you too. Eat just enough and not too much.

Do I see that you are in WV?
My project is a book stand (document) to use next to the computer. The class decoupages (sp ) this using paper or paint and Mod Podge. In order to make it reasonable for the students I use MDF.
I just discovered Mod Podge and it is great to seal the edges of MDF. It does present a problem when painting as it requires more coats of paint.

Doug,
My buddy ( now deceased) wrote one for you. "Don't All The Girls Get Pretty At Closing Time" in addition to others. Unfortunately, my woodworking experience has been limited. We had a picture framing business for several years until my wife said at the first of the year (many moons ago) she was finished and so I came to the point in life that I should call it quites too.
I've used the glue and water up until I found the Mod Podge.
That's life.

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
