Jatoba table top

Has anyone tried to edge join jatoba with kreg screws? I the read wood does not readily take screws.

You are better off to predrill if you can, the wood is very hard and is prone to splitting.

To help with edge alignment, I have alternated biscuits with pocket screws, and then clamps are not required.

Jatoba is gorgeous. I was just looking at some pieces today which were donated to the used material warehouse.
