Hello,

My name is Derek and I live in Maryland.  I haven't done much woodwork in the past but I hope to find more time to devote to it.  I just bought a pocket hole jig and am excited to start my first project.  I look forward to learning from all of you.

Hi everyone
My name is Maximillian (you can call me Max).
I am a hobby woodworker in New Zealand, right there in the South Pacific.
I have a relatively large workshop (think 1.5 cars plus) filled with toys. As far as Kreg goes; I have the Precision Router Table (after five years of getting around to building my own, I finally just went out and bought one), Kreg Pocket hole jigs and clamps, and I used the Kreg track system in my homemade miter saw station.
Despite having all of the toys and more than enough enthusiasm, my skills are not all that good; perfection (or at least an acceptable outcome) are always elusive. I follow plans and online guidance to the letter but never seem to be able to recreate those perfectly tight joints and other tricks of the trade that distinguish the capable from the wannabes.
So, I hope to improve, little by little, by joining this site.
Cheers
Max

Hi Max,

I have found that like any other endeavor, practice makes perfect. My 2nd build was the simple coffee table. It turned out better than I expected. I don't shoot for perfection because of knowing that wood is flawed. When selecting wood, I try to get acceptable pieces so that the outcome will be the best that it can be. This can be a task in itself since the quality of wood does not seem to be as good as it used to be. I have chosen to use pine wood in my project making since I'm doing this as a hobby. I've created a facebook group page to display pictures of my builds as well as sell them. If your interested, the name of the group is "Pine Creations" and can be found at:  https://www.facebook.com/groups/1699574133608564/ I have also found that by watching woodworking shows, I have learned some tips on woodworking.

Cheers to you and future projects. Your fellow woodworking enthusiast.

Tom

Hi Derek,

I purchased two different items from Kreg tools at two different times. The Kreg jig and the DIY kit. My 1st project with the jig was a cabinet for the kitchen that I designed myself. The 2nd was a simple coffee table from the Kreg website. I have yet to use the DIY kit. Perhaps on the next build. The Kreg jig made the build much easier than other ways of joining wood. I'm looking forward to doing more projects.

Hello, my name is Dan and I'm so glad I bought some of the Kreg tools.  WIth the rip-cut jig, I'm able to get rid of this darn table saw which was taking up half my garage.  Now I'm having fun doing wood working again and I can take care of that honey-do list without be disgruntled :).  I and especially my wife thank you Kreg.

Hello, my name is Chris and I live outside of DC. I was looking for a hobby that I felt would be rewarding and thought about getting into woodworking. I am a novice and I am looking forward to seeing what I am able to create.

Hello, My name is Gary and I live in Coupeville Wa.  I've always been interested in woodworking but not very good at it.  I recently helped a contractor friend remodel the inside of a home and am completely addicted now.  I'm currently work on organizing my garage and made my first workbench using the Kreg pocket jig project plan.  Practice makes perfect and I'm ready to go.

Hello my name is Don Hallam (Canada). I have been a member for some time but this was the first time I got involved with a comment. I am retired and will work on anything but Nat. Gas or Freon. Jack of all trades but not a master. I enjoy the challenges of some jobs. Pushing 80 so I am slowing down quite a bit. What I could do for 8 hrs is now down to about 2 hrs. I have always enjoyed woodworking. My wife said I could not retire because I did not have all the toys I wanted.

Hello to everyone. My name is Jim and I live in North Georgia. My working experience came from helping my Dad and Uncles with building furniture and residential homes. I had a full time job as a firefighter, but retired about 6 years ago and getting back into working with wood. Just trying to get my shop organized. Love the projects that the members post on here and looking forward to using and sharing projects with the community. I have also started my collection of Kreg tools. I'm really getting into the pocket hole tools. Really simple to use. I also have the saw guide that gets that plywood cut right on the 1st time.

My name is Jim.  I am a School teacher in Monterey CA and a Water Polo coach.  DIYer all my life.  Just discovered Kreg Jig and am using it to build some stools for the outside BBQ area and a learning tower for my grandson.

Hey!
My name is Ivan and I am the webmaster and has wooden interests since I was little. I thank my grandfather who taught me those first steps with the woodwork. I'm up here to find new ideas with other enthusiasts with the same interest.

Free Hand Guard (dust collection)

Hi.  I'm wondering if anyone has used the Woodpecker Free Hand Guard for dust collection on their bench top router table during pattern routing.  How effective is it?  It's adaptable to any router table.  Continue

New Kreg 720Pro

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
