I have been looking at a dust collection system for a small shop( only about 400 sq feet) and I ran across the harbor frieght system. Does anyone have any experience with them are they worth the money or should I spend a couple hundred more for a good one thank you for your time.

Jeremy , I have a jet  dust collector system and have had good results with It !!!   They  have a 4 " inlet and I have it hooked up to 2 1/2 " plastic tubing   running across the ceiling and it works for me !!! I have it hooked up to my 13 " planer , 10-20 jet sander , router table  and a 4 1/8 " jointer that is 20 feet away and it works just fine !!!  If you go to my home page you can see some of my hook ups  , hope this helps youy , JIM !!!

I have the harbor freight d.c. and I am quite satified with it, I got it for a christmas present from my wife. I hooked up a 35 gal. trash can with a seperator lid on it. I also use the rockler extendable hose with their dust right connectors, I have one hose hooked up to my router table at all times and the other I switch from my table saw, band saw , planner, jointer and drill press. I just received a one micron bag for the top today from amazon, havn't hooked it up yet be cause I'm doing some finishing in my basement and don't want to deal with the dust.

If you go with this d c harbor freight don't sell replacement bags for it but you can get them at amazon also. I was also worried about buying a d c from harbor freight, I was amazed at how it works, I had it for about 3 years now.

Ray I would like to thank you for your input on the subject. Would it be possible to get see pictures of your set up? Thanks again

I have  the HF one in my shop right now, works like a dream, and you cant go wrong with the pricing. it does a  awesome job

for those of you that are using the harbor freight DC's which ones are you using? I have also been looking into the DC's through them, but don't know which model to go with.

This is the one that I have. They always have it on sale, or use a 20% coupon.

I would not buy it from harbor, Honestly go check on woodcraft, they have many options and different prices. I like all of the Jet cyclones and air filtering systems for around 400. good brands
