hi guys and gals, i am looking to build an end table to cover my rather large subwoofer and better utilize the space. i remember reading somewhere a ratio to use when designing furniture so that the piece looks properly proportioned. can any one recall what that ratio is? i  dont want a lanky legged end table .lol.thanks patrick

I think your referring to the "Golden ratio" just google Golden ratio calculator, there's plenty out there.
hi patrick, i learned and use the 1:1.6 ratio, this ratio is pleasing to the eye and works out rather easy. i have made several pieces with this ratio and they look good, even my shop has about the same ratio. hope this helps and you dont have to search the web to find the ratio. please let me know if this was the ratio you were looking for.
the portion i am ? is top length x width vs leg size i am unsure which calculator on woodbin to use..thanks

I use the reference section on woodbin, it gives you the height , depth and width of a table but it doesnt give you the the length of the legs it gives you the overall height but not the leg length itself
