If your board is what we call a 1 " x 4 " here in the USA it probably a 3/4 " x 3 1/4 " and your R-3 should be set for 3/4 " , hope this helps and I did not confuse you ,happy wood working , JIM !!

Measuring the depth of the pocket for the regular jig the pocket should start 2-9/16" from the joint edge of the board, so you should be fine. I measured the micro jig too - that starts at 2-7/16" from the joint edge. The pockets should not extend to the edge away from the joint.

From what I can calculate, the screw will extend just under 1", so the pocket hole for one board over shouldn't interfere with the screw end of the adjacent board.

Gordon , if you are drilling one board at a time with your R-3 and the board is a true 1" x 3 1/4 " and you plan to end up with a board that is 9 3/4 " wide , by laying the three boards flat and edge to edge , the R 3 should work To drill them !!
