I agree with Jens. I got mine from grizzly but it looks the same if its 1 1/2 hp. does a great job with 22 in wide belt sander, planer, jointer and router. only draw back is mine is 220 volt, simple fix, run one or two 220 outlets. havent tried the cyclone attachment, have it but just got into my new shop and like you its too cold to work there until i get a furnace this spring. i use metal flex dryer duct for hose, plastic hose will gernerate static electricity. i stripped a 12 awg wire and…

Well I finally have my dust collector up and running. I still have to hook up some of the attachments but I love it. I have the rockler expandable hose and I have the cyclone top for a trash can, This things clean like nothing I ever seen before, I have the rockler floor sweep attachment and it is great, I was able to get the harbor freight collector for 139.00 and I had to build it in place, it stands 75'' tall and to make it fit in my basement it had to come up in between 2 floor joices to…

It might be a good investment but is it about same price or more? One thing it takes no floor space,Yrs ago I built a small colletor using a squirel cage from a clothes dryer and it was soso.ill try find web page I found it at,<a href="http://www.fishcarver.com/making_a_dust_collector.htm" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">http://www.fishcarver.com/making_a_dust_collector.htm</a><br></br>
This is not your real powerful collector but was fun to build<br></br>

Frankly I really don't see where you need to ground it .I have read same type articles about explosions etc but nobody can say for sure it it happens . Maybe in a cabinet shop that runs 1000's of feet a day and metal piping. I have a grnd wire on planner, table saw and router table. so when I switch hose to different machine I just tag onto that wire <br/><br/><cite>ray vile said:</cite><br/><blockquote><div>I've read several different opinions about grounding the hoses in a dust collector system, Jens I see you grounded yours is it through all of the hoses or just at the cyclone, some sites say there is a possibilty on an explosion and other articles said although on paper it could happen no one ever heard of it, Some of the articles said to ground the system so you won't get a static electric shock, Once again I'm confused</div>
