For the HD Kreg Jig, you have to remember it is a 1/2" bit. I discovered Corded was the way to go. I liked the T-Handled C-Man drill, but it was a bit under powered. So I picked up a DEWALT DWD115K 8 Amp 3/8-Inch VSR Mid-Handle Grip Drill Kit with Keyless Chuck.
I think some people may be under a misconception, you do not require a really powerful drill to make pocket holes. A good 1.5ah battery in a reasonable quality drill is all you need . I have drilled 80 pocket holes with a single fully charged battery. Regards fixing pocket hole screws into pockets a good clamp and your drill on low torque setting is all you need. Why do we seem obsessed with everything being super powerful ,when most of the time it is not necessary.

Hey, you should see if you can get your hands on the Fein ASCM 4x speed drill for all situations.

It comes with 2 x 18v 5.2ah batteries, but they are light and they really drive home any screw.

We have used them for drilling straight into oak a m10x600mm screw! Brilliant piece of kit if you can find a FEIN dealer near you. See this for a little teaser. Fein ASCM 18QX

I like the M18 Fuel drills. These are brushless drills that deliver a lot of power. The Li-On batteries last a long time, too. I got the set with the drill and driver. I use the drill to drill the holes and the driver to put the screws in.

My local Home Depot has them on sale this week for Father's Day. I suspect Lowes may, too. They are expensive but I think they are worth it.

Thanks guys, I was looking at the Milwaukee drills and have been struggling with my 14v black and decker today. I assume the Milwaukee drills you have are 18v? Which models do you use as I would prefer not to spend too much on a drill as I have other larger tools that I would like to get and can't blow my budget on a drill.
Thanks
