Just from looking at the picture that thing from Rockler looks like a waste of money compared to the Oneida system. Rocklers would probably do a very good job on a planer, but would let the finer stuff trundle on through, unless there is some internal baffling that isn't apparent from the post.

Gary roofner said:

I decided to get the Deluxe model. I plan to build a stand similar to the one featured in ShopNotes. I'll post some pictures once I get to getting it together.

Here's a link to a simple plan that combines a shop vac and the Onieda system into one roll around cart. Might give you and idea or two.

I picked up one of the Oneida Dust Deputy's and it works great. The filter in the vac stays clean and the suction is strong enought to pick up dust and larger particles. I have the bucket bungie corded to the top of my vac. I plan to build a cart one of these days. Its a great investment for a small ship.

Hi Brian - I got the one for the 5 gallon bucket, it's called the Dust Deputy Deluxe

The only difference is with the Deluxe you get a couple of 5 gallon buckets, a handful of 1/4-20 hardware and a gasket. The DIY version has the seperator (the important part) and a set of instructions on using your own bucket.
