I could not get the Kreg screws to securely hold in Melamine coated shelf material from Lowe's. Anyone else have this problem?

I didn’t know there was a problem - until - I started reading ‘stuff’ here. I built a cabinet for the wife to hold all of her "10 Speed Peach Peelers" [my name for the gadgets she buys] out of Melamine. It is 18" deep, 40" wide and 88" high with 4 doors and 6 shelves. I have been using it for more than a year now, daily, and have had zero issues.
Also - it there is a concern - this stuff is awesome!!
