I agree with Jay, a simple tongue/groove flat panel door would be just as easy to make and the results would be much better on a door. Pocket screws definitely have their place, but not in a cabinet door, in my opinion.

Jay Boutwell said:

That strip that holds the panel in looks like a rail road tie added to the door frame. Any thicker and you would not have any room for dishes. Cutting the plywood panel corners off made it even that much worse. Much better to cut the dado deeper and cut the corner square using a simple chisel. The you could use a simple 1/4 inch square piece to hole in the panels and place it on the inside rather that the top of the stile and rails. Using a simple table saw a person could cut and make a much better looking door in about the same length of time that would look more professional than is shown in this video. The door would be a simple tendon and mortise type style and you only need the saw fence and miter guage to cut the total door. Pocket screws and never a good method of doing cabinet doors if you want a job that looks professional. I could say much more but won't at this time.

Hello, look up Ana White's web site. She has some very easy to understand kitchen cabinet plans on it. Kreg used to have a basic cabinetmaking booklet download that showed everything you need to build cabinets. I built my own for my cabin, I'm not a woodworker yet they turned out fine and I was able to make them the exact sizes that I needed. You can do it too.

Stacy,

My approach would be to do a search for books on "cabinet making"---

do a search on www.

There are some out there that are very informative.

You need to learn of the various joinery techniques, that are proven to be very useful for successful builds.
