Brazilian cherry. A dense, brittle, hard wood. I've had a lot of trouble breaking screws before the shoulder is seated and threads stripping before the joint has seated shut. I would not recommend using the Kreg system with this wood. Joeval7@comcast.net

Joe, On my page I made a chest out of brazillian cherry and after I used the Kreg jig I had to predrill the holes through the hole that the Kreg jig made. I do agree, very difficult, however, a Jet Mortiser cured that issue altogether. lol
Joe: I trimmed out a big jetted bath tub in a house that we built with Brazilian IPE. It is really hard and dense also. I had some trouble with the Kreg screws, I predrilled some of the holes, but it was slow going then I finally did the old school trick with some bar soap on the screws and didn't have any more problems. Just my two cents. T
Thanks T.C.. I used bees wax but still had problems.
Thanks J.W. I also used the domino wedges to help out.

I have also used D&L hand claener.

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
