Kreg Owners' Community

I've been looking at both these saw's for a while now, and read the review's. Was wondering your input here on the community.....

I have the Bosch. My only complaint is the zero clearance insert is so flimsy it deforms during sawing creating potential errors. I have had to mill my own out of mdf.

If I had a choise, my dream saw would be the saw stop, hands down, no questions asked. I took a trip to my local H.D., and asked why they don't have the R4512 contractor saw from ridgid like they do in the States, so he punched in the model number. I know wait for it, I know it doesn;t have the cast iron extensions and there were mixed reviews, just like anything you come across. Oh so when the gentelman typed in the model number, can you guess it, the saw is under develoment, I guess I might hold on for that one. Hopefully it won't be long, or I'll have to pick up one of the portable saw's. The one thing I read about the 4510 is that the manual states to use a 6'' dado set, would that be an issue instead of an 8''. Thank's for your ongoing suggestions I hpoe!!!!!!!!

Hi Joe - that's true, 4510 is limited to the 6" dado set unless you dismantle the gadgets that lock the riving knife/splitter and make it toolless. It didn't bother me any as I needed a new dado set anyway and hardly ever need one over 1-1/2" deep. If I ever do, I'll just cut the majority with the dado set and finish with a router.

A friend and I just went in halves on the Ridgid R4510.  Hope its as good as I have read.

Hey Murry that's gonna be a tug of war there, lol.

It's the Bosh  for me. I just picked up the  Freud LU83R blade for it and am very happy . It makes clean accurate  crosscuts and rips and the digital fence is right on the mark.
the lifetime warrenty is actually a life time service agreement. You have to register the tool with ridge to get any repairs done.

just remember the ridgid saw has a lifetime warranty with it.

They are both extremly good saws. The ridgid seems have a little better dust colletion to it, and the fences on both are extreamly good. The choice is yours. Either way be prepaired to be happy.

I have a Ridgid R4510 and I love it. I, too, read reviews and looked at ALL models. I chose the Ridgid because of table size (it had the largest) and played with one at Home Depot. I definately feel I chose wisely. I have a lot more reasons if you want more.

Miter Saw Recommendation

I’m looking to upgrade my miter saw. I’m willing to invest a good amount of money to get one with the precision pocket hole joinery requires. Would anyone like to offer a recommended model?

Miter saw stand

Has anyone used one of the Kreg Universal Stand configurations as the base for a miter saw workstation with fold down wings?  I scrolled through the pics in the community and all I saw were using a DIY base cabinet.  I have an extra Kreg router…Continue

New Kreg 720Pro

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…

Not Pleased With Pocket Hole Construction

Several months ago, I purchased the Kreg K4MS so that I could build the Lego Table as outlined on the companion "buildsomething" web site which exclusively uses pocket hole construction.  I have considerable experience with conventional…
