<p>The bolts on the plastic slides are usually hidden or out of the way and should come with some kind of cover that go's over the end of the threads. I would go with plastic if it where me.just saying.</p>

<p>Some home centers sell plastic slides that are inexpensive and you just bolt them together. Would not get as hot usually yellow. They usually go with the treated wood build your own swing sets,something in the 10 foot length.</p>

<p>ITA with Ken. You might want to check around at some pool supply stores. I remember as a kid the slides were often made of metal but it could get quite hot if the sun is able to hit it.</p>
