Sears $139 GMC GEneral Machine Company realy good for the money sliding. If any are still around.
That might be a tall order to get a good sliding saw under $250 Ash. Gary has a recommendation from Sears but most of the ones under 250 are not sliding. I was looking for a sliding saw and my wife bought me the Ridgid for my birthday. I used it one day and took it back. Too big; too much saw. I got the 10" (not sliding) miter saw instead and found it was all I needed. I guess it depends on what you want to use it for...
I checked today they went up $10. I have cross cut a 24 inch piece of plywood by cutting half way through and flipping over finish cut. I have $250 in it with the royob saw station from Home Depo $100. The combo works great.
Ash, I just got an email ad from Highland woodworking. The Triton 10" is going for $199.
