I have been building bee hive boxes for a number of years now.  Up until recently, I used finger joints to join the boxes together which is really the traditional way hive boxes are constructed. I have used dove tail jigs, Incra's new box joint jig and homemade finger joint jigs to make the joints.  All of which are tedious and time consuming. I decided to try my pocket hole jig instead and have been very happy with the outcome.  Once all of the boards are cut, it is a far simpler process to drill the holes than to cut finger joints.  Then, getting a nice square box without having to clamp, measure and adjust all the time is also a bonus.  I put the holes on the outside of the box and use paint plugs.  After sanding and painting, you can't see any evidence of the joinery.  I asked folks at the last bee keepers meeting if anyone else was using pocket screws.  No one knew what I was talking about.  Anyone else tried this?
