Those of you who have made benches from beds what length do you cut the footboard for armrests? Here is an example from the forum. https://kregjig.ning.com/photo/bedframe-bench

Gary,

I have not converted a bed to a bench, but do have plans to build a garden bench in the near future.  The plans I have (downloaded from the internet) call for a seat height of 16" from the ground (floor) and an arm rest height of 24".

I will be drafting my own plans, I just plan to use these for reference.  If you're interested, I've attached the plans I downloaded, and a picture of what my sister-in-law is wanting (bench, with table in the middle).

Hope this helps, Don

Thanks Don  gives me a good starting point. I would like any advice from some that have experince in the repurpsing for park bench.

This might give you an idea, I have a full cannon ball post head board and foot board I'd like to make a bench from.  Take a look here

Here is my repurpoed bed I will convert. \

That ought to be real nice when you finish it.

I have done 3. Two from matching twin beds and one from a full. The one from the full is more comfortable. I just the footboard in half width wise and used that. First photo is of one of the pair twins.
