I'm thinking about getting the Kreg Miter Gauge instead of building a sled for my table saw. I figure the miter gauge would have more uses and since the stock will ride on the saw table there is no drop off like with some crosscut sleds. And it should be lighter and easier to use than a crosscut sled. Not to mention more accurate and easier to cut angles than a sled would be.

Is anyone using the Kreg miter gauge instead of a sled? I would love to hear your input.

Hi I am using the Kreg miter gauge but not as a replacement for a sled . Mine's a fairly old one 5 years old I think. Their a good bit of kit ,but be wary when adjusting the plastic grub screws to fit the width of your track as their easy to chew off the ends .

Thanks Michael.

How easy is it to zero the thing? Want to know how that works at 90* and at other angles. I have also been looking at the Incra which is more expensive. Trying to decide which to get. But I am a big fan of Kreg and I really "want" it to work well for me. I don't need all the different angle notches that the Incra has but i do like how it calibrates the fence scale.

Yes easy to set to zero I used a engineers square to check ,seems accurate with the pre dents on the gauge .

Accu Cut 1 Reply

All of my cuts are slightly beveled.  I am leaning on saw in one direction to keep it tight because it feels like there is a tiny bit of looseness in the saw sled at the rear.  I don't have this problem with the Accu Rip and the same sled.  Had to…Continue
