Plus one on the Oneida dust deputy. Depending on what you have, you may need a bit more though. I put the dust deputy in las October. Up until then, I was replacing vac bags, 22 gal, 6.5 hp shop-vac, at a rate of 1 to two a month. Since then, I have emptied the catch bucket 8 or ten times and still haven't got the bag a fourth full.  Had one of those "tornado" type lids for a 5 gal bucket and it made no appreciable difference in bag usage. That said, one of those things in series with a dust deputy may be needed to catch the big chunks a planner throws out. The deputy does a great job on fine stuff, sanding dust and the like.
Hi matt, I got my dad a dust deputy for his birthday last year. That thing is amazing! Not only does it keep the shop vac clean but it also appears to increase the suction power of the vac as well. It's also kind of fun to watch the sawdust and other bits and pieces go swirling down the cone. ;-)
I have the Dust Deputy. Awesome product and made in the USA.
I purchased a vac from Harbor Freight and have a 30 gallon in front of it ,It works fantastic Have 155.00 in entire system,Got vac on sale for 129
I use the Dust Deputy with a 6.0 HP Craftsman Vac connected to about 25 feet of 2 1/2" plastic pipe with 8 drops (blast gates).  Works like a champ.  I'm amazed at how much suction there is, even at the furthest gate.
I have the Oneida Deluxe Dust Deputy with the 10-gallon metal can.  I didn't want the plastic one as I always seem to break plastic parts and I didn't like the attachment to the plastic pail.  Too flimsy of a design, though a plywood base would strengthen it easily enough (engineer in me talking...lol).  Mine works great with table saw, jointer, planer, etc.

Not sure if your interested in going down this path but you could build your own Cyclone and Mini Cyclone.

I built my own Pentz Cyclone Photos of my Cyclone and it works really well.   If you haven't visited his site its well worth a visit as there is a lot good information. Link

Free Hand Guard (dust collection)

Hi.  I'm wondering if anyone has used the Woodpecker Free Hand Guard for dust collection on their bench top router table during pattern routing.  How effective is it?  It's adaptable to any router table.  Continue

New Kreg 720Pro

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
