Anyone have any experience with the 1/4 beaded wainscoting at lowes

The beaded wainscoting is 1/4 inch  thick made of mdf you get 3 7.5 inch  x  8 ft pieces its says primed white but looks like finished white to me. I'm think of using liquid nails adhesive and pinning it to the sides of my book case sides to get the look of beaded side panels. They appear to be tong and grooved to connect together or  maybe connect like hardwood  flooring.

Hi Gary - I haven't seen any of the bead board but I have seen some base molding there that says primed but looks pretty glossy for primer. If you are planning on using adhesive though, look into Power Grab by Loctite. It cures absolutely clear. It also develops a very quick tack where it may not need pinning. I used some on some molding last summer and was very pleased.

Hi Gary,

Yes, the material is primed, ready for painting.

It does have a sheen to the finish.

I'd give a light sanding, using 220 grit, and apply a top of color of choice.

As John mentioned, I've also used the Power Grab adhesive material, to fasten trim.

Use it sparingly.

It's a great material, and the quick tack feature is very beneficial.

I've used it on several projects---it provides excellent results.

It's nice, and you don't need to use brads or pinning.

When I did have to use a brad or two, the small pin head size holes can be filled with white caulk, and makes for it nearly invisible.  You'd be hard pressed to see the ''fill" even using a magnifier.

Hi Gary,

I used this product about 5 years ago in one of my bathrooms. I used construction adhesive and a pin nailer. Painted with a high quality paint and it looks as good today as when i first installed it

Thanks all for your comments I'll have to checkout Power grab adhesive.

Hi Gary,

I dunno what project you're working on, but I opted to get the actual tongue and groove planks for about $10 at my local lowes. It comes in a pack of 12 32" tall beaded tongue & groove planks. It makes a great back for smaller (under 3ft tall) projects. Click here to see what I'm talking about.
