I was looking up information on The Woodworking Show coming soon to my town and saw that Kreg is a sponsor... I was wondering if Kreg will be displaying at the show and if there will be any show specials that are too good to pass up?
I was just at the Atlanta show last weekend and Kreg didn't offer any specials. I waited to purchase the K4 at the show, thinking that they would have a discount and they were giving away a free 6" square drive for the first 100 customers. To my surprise, they didn't have any K4's at the show, no free gifts and no discounts. Check Rockler, their offering a special.
No, I probably was within the first 30-40 person at their booth and they told me that they ran out already. My guess is that the square drives never got shipped to the trade show, so they never did have any to give away to begin with. Same thing with the K4's, the representative said they never got shipped to the show. I wrote their customer service about my thoughts and especially about not even offering a show discounts like every other vendor did. They said that someone would reply within 24 hours and to this date, they never responded.
The trade show is well worth going to, like I said earlier, every other vendor offered some really great deals. Because of the that, I purchased many items that I would of normally of waited, but couldn't resist the offers. I will say that Kreg had great demonstrations of their products and it helped me with my decision to purchase the K4. I also own their precision router table and love it.
I did receive a response from a Kreg representative this morning and he was very apologetic. Apparently there was suppose to be a special bundling on the K3 outfit, which I never knew. Anyway, I was glad that to hear from him and that he was concerned.
As far as the deals, there were too many to talk about. Every vendor offered a price reduction of some sort. I would have to say anywhere from 10-20% off and/or bundling with a lower price. Peachtree Supply offered some great deals on their dovetail jigs, clamps and discounted all products they had at the show. I could of spent a fortune there. It's well worth going and go online and print the coupons they offer.
