I am wondering where the most reasonable place is to buy t-track for mu workbench.  I have a budget and it seems the the prices vary from manufacturer to manufacturer and web site to web site.  I do not have any wood working stores in the area I live and usually have to rely on local lumber yards and hardware stores or I can drive a short distance (still considered local) and go to a big box store (Menards, Home Depot, Lowes) for my project supplies and tools so I would have to buy online and have it shipped.  Any help would be great.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Another very useful t-track, I use---

http://www.rockler.com/product.cfm?page=22075&site=ROCKLER

great tool for many applications---

can be clamped to almost any work surface---

I keep one ''at-the-ready'', for many tasks---routing, sawing, cutting, chiseling, clamping, drilling, sanding, and the like.

Lots of clamping pressure can be applied, with this track.

This track can be mounted permanent or portable.

This is a very handy ''t-track hold down'',

for use with the above mention t-track, as well as several other tracks, on today's market.

Rick,

Here is a photo of the bench-dog dual track---

Hi Rick,

The hole spacing, in the Bench-Dog dual-track is on 6'' BC, in the miter track portion---not in the ''t-track portion.

A 1/2'' dia ctr sink bit will fit in the 3/4'' track........./p>

Here's a photo, and info, of a ''hand countersink'' tool,

I made reference to in an earlier post, above.

The newer (current) models feature 5-6 cutting edges.

The ''hex shank'' feature can be inserted in a magnetic hex driver bit,

for ''quick-change'',  when used in hand drill/driver, drill press, or the like.

The 1/2'' dia size, can be machined down to a 5/16'' dia, so as to fit into the narrow slot of a t-track, for making countersink holes, and insert flathead screws from the top-side,

to permanently affix a t-track in place.

  Works for me.

Ken, thanks for all the helpful info, appreciate it.

  Works for me.

FYI, I just got a Rockler sales flyer and some of their T-tracks and miter-tracks are now on sale.  All their Kreg stuff is also on sale.

First time I really had a need for the ACS miter guide.

I've been using my Adaptive Cutting System table for a few years now, and it's been really solid. This past week was the first time I ever needed to use the miter guide though.I was rebuilding some shelving in a tiny closet and I discovered the…Continue

What thread and size screw to use 2 Replies

I am building a small trunk for a military friend to put some belongings in. I have made legs out of ash hardwood and will make the sides out of 1/2” or 3/4” Baltic birch plywood. The legs are 1.5” thick by 2” wide. So since I’m drilling pockets in…Continue

New Kreg 720Pro

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
