What? I can't make out any of that. Is your auto-correct not working?
Hi David. I use the micro jig on 1/2 inch material without any problems. It is slower that the other jigs but using care and take your time and you should find it to be accurate and makes a strong joint. If you are using melamine be sure to use glue and use the one made for melamine. "Roo Glue" is the best I know of. It is expensive but does the trick.
By the way I like the project you are planning on doing. I think it would be fun and also something different. From looking at your drawings I think you can put several rows of shoes in the storage cabinet. I like your thinking and desire to do something that can be a bit tricky but with a great out come.
thanks Jay I ran across some cabnet grade 1/2" plywood so Im hopeing it well make a stronger joint than useing melamine or mdf.
David, trust me you made a good decission, it works well and takes the headache out of working with 1/2 inch material. Have any problems, let me know and I can help you along. I like what it does it is just slower to use but the results are very good.
thanks Jay me and a friend have plans to make it like the K-2 got some more projects I what to try it on.
Hi David, I already was thinking about doing the very same thing with the micro jig however it will fit the kreg base. I was wanting to make the adapter into a mini size as well. Here is the link to the mini jig being use on the large kreg base.
thanks Jay I will be looking at that for sure.
David you are welcome, there is nothing wrong with your modifications. It looks stable and will speed up the job by at least two times. This similiar to what I was thinking about. I have some aluminum that I could make mine out of but also have some 1/2 inch stainless steel. I have a clamp that I took off the K-2 when I modified it to the air clamp. It is a little big for what I was wanting to build so I am looking for a smaller clamp that will allow me to make the jig smaller. If I don't find what I want I will build it up with an air clamp system similiar to my stationary K-2.
I have the kreg system but do not like changing it around to fit the micro so I have been using it by clamping it to the work piece.
Good job David, it is fun to alter tools once in awhile.

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
