Kreg Owners' Community

Been a Kreg forum member for several months, but this is my first post... so, Howdy!  I'm in Western NY (near Buffalo) and am a novice woodworker now that I'm retired.

I'm pretty active in our church, which is located in an impoverished area.  The church needs cash, so it was decided to sell about half of the church's oak chairs.... but quite a few had previously been repaired, and many of those, plus others, had become "loose and wobbly". So to repair the frames to make' em solid again, I volunteered to fix  'em.

Pocket screws are the answer, and Kreg is the way!!!

Here's some pics of the previous repairs, and how I did the repairs using a Kreg jig....

I made a jig of sorts to get the legs in the proper positions, and clamped the legs to the jig's sides, then screwed thru the bible shelf and seat frames, into each of the four legs, two screws per leg.   Very solid now!   I used 1 1/4" fine thread Kreg screws.

BTW,  I LOVE this forum -  thank you Kreg and all participants.....VERRRRY helpful!!!
