Using 1/2" (12mm) board i have found the holes come out very close to the edge, and given the angle, they always split off the edge of the piece they are joining to.

I looked here and googled, however the tips were to back off the collar, (but depth is not the issue), or move the jig away from the edge.

I assume these refer to the other kits, as the master system you set the depth using the gauge and a brass knurled screw, and the wood sits firmly on the top of the jig.

It's clear that the entry point is too high, however that means lowering the drill guide, which is not easy due to the positive locking system, or shimming the wood higher off the base, making it not flat for large pieces.

It seems to me someone simply measured wrong when designing the master, as it's supposed to remove all this need for fiddling about...

Any ideas?

Thanks

It's suggested you use the micro jig for half-inch thick stock.

Then I do feel slightly mis-sold.

It has the 1/2 markings after all.

I thought this was the one kreg pocket jig to rule them all
