I have seen the router table video where storage space is made in the way of drawers etc, is there a similar project for the portable router bench?

I am building a work bench for a pilot friend of mine that will be in her hangar. It will hold a metal brake that weights 380lbs. Plus I will be building a shelf that will sit on the bottom shelf of this work bench to hold the fingers for the machine. They are quite heavy themselves. Right now my plan is to use pocket hole joinery. I am curious if this will be sufficient. Below you will see a sketchup drawing of the bench. I'm using 2x4 lumber for the rails and 4x4 for the legs. Right now my plan is to use pocket hole joinery. I am curious if this will be sufficient. Below you will see a sketchup drawing of the bench. I'm using 2x4 lumber for the rails and 4x4 for the legs. There will be 2x4 bracing under the bottom shelf and the top of the bench. The top and the shelf will be out of 3/4" birch ply. My intention is to use 2 1/4 pocket hold screws

I'm also wondering if I could use pocket holes from underneath to secure the shelf and the top? That way I would have no screws showing. Would this work? What size screws would I use?
FREE Project Plan of the Month: Hobby Benchtag:kregjig.ning.com,2016-01-12:2900167:Topic:7955512016-01-12T19:53:06.335ZKregRephttps://kregjig.ning.com/profile/KregRep

Any suggestions to improve the working conditions in my shop?
Single car spot of tandem garage is cramped!tag:kregjig.ning.com,2014-09-19:2900167:Topic:6530712014-09-19T21:07:57.459ZJared Cameronhttps://kregjig.ning.com/profile/JaredCameron
I am so happy to have my space in our 3 car garage, but it does present a lot of challenges. My table saw is a contractor's folding table saw for easy movement and storage. I have a miter saw on wheels and that actually takes up too much space. My workbench gets slid around that garage so much, i feel like i'm sanding down the bottoms of the legs. There are so many things i want to do, but haven't found a way to put them in my shop. Does anyone have any suggestion on adequate dust collection?…

Mine is terrible and i have to wear a dust mask because of the saw dust.

Here's my last project. it's a mud room bench with cubbies and storage. I believe there were well over 120 pocket holes in this thing and i think you could park my car on top of it!!! The bench is made up of left over Brazillian Walnut from our bedroom flooring. Hardest wood i've ever tried to work. the smell while routing was so wild.

My next project is picture frame molding for each cubbie of the mud room. My router table is basic at best and it's closed base makes for a dangerous dust and electricity mix. I'm looking at open bottom desktop solutions now, or maybe even making my own.
I got my kreg jig about 5 years ago and there are very few projects i do that don't involve it. It has become the workhorse of my shop for sure. Outdoor benches, indoor benches, bedside tables, fixing stuff we get off craigslist, so many uses. I even got the Kreg HD. that sucker is a hoss.
I bought 2 of the 3-inch versions to be used on my drill press table. It's difficult to explain the problems, but I'll try.

First, there are no written instructions - except for a tiny, itty-bitty box with 2 red arrows. Sorry, I don't have the vision required to see something that small. Sure, I used a magnifying glass, but the red-on-blue cannot be fixed with magnification. (...probably color blindness...)

Second, the bolt that is concealed in a little box on the package does not fit into the tracks on my table. I found some t-bolts that fit, but that meant that the clamp can't swivel freely.

Third and worst of all, the mechanism of the clamps do not slide freely. That big, black spring in the handle is stuck! I went to a local store to see their display to understand the differences between their working example and my cripples. The display worked perfectly. The big spring slides just fine, but the ones that I bought don't work!

I'm sure that I am not the only person who suffered these experiences. How did you solve these problems, short of sending them back for a refund?
