A speed square or rafter square another good way to cut a straight line with a circular saw.

I could not get my Square Cut to work with my DeWalt battery circular saw. I ended up elongating the small slot and cutting a portion of the slider guide stop off. It works perfectly now. As far as cutting small stock, guess one tool won't do everything, but this works for most.

The only way i can set up so that when I put the adjustable guide arm exactly on the line and it NOT cut into the keeper piece is opposite of the above video. If you look at the first frame of the above video it looks like he is trimming the end off that long board. What if you need a piece that is only 6 or 7 inches?

The way he is set up you'd cut into the keeper piece. If you flipped it around you'd not have enough room for the guide to sit on.  I'm just not getting how this tool is used.

I have a question: (on his second cut) If he was to have measured from the end of that board say 1.5 inches and then made that mark and then cut it he would have cut a piece that was 1.5 inches minus the kerf. How do you compensate for that? I having trouble understanding how this works.

Perhaps if you needed a piece that 1.5 inches off that 2x6 you should measure over 1.5 inches and then another 1/8th?????????

I feel retarded not understanding this!!!

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
