can you use tendons and pocket holes together on woodworking projects

I am building a bed and wanted to make sure the sides are nice and strong to the legs. The project calls for just pocket hole screws but want something stronger. I have a Beadlock Pro Loose Tenon Jig. Can I use Tenons and pocket screw together??

Personally I would use just the beadlock system. That is a very strong joint & even more so if you can double them up.

Or space the tenons,, top & bottom,, so you can drill pocket screws between them if you want to use both.

Either way leave 1" of wood above the upper tenon or pocket screws to help prevent splitting from jumping on the bed or standing on the rails. I just made a new rail for my neighbor back just before CHRISTmas that had broken when somebody stepped on the rail.

Thanks Glenn your suggestion is helpful.

You're Welcome & I'm glad I could help.
