After reading the Basic Cabinetmaking article, I have a question - Pg 19 shows that the kick-board is 3" deep & 4 1/2" high. It also shows the floor is 5" above the bottom of the side. Pg 26 shows how to attach the base to the sides at that 5" height. SO, my question is: if the kick-board is only 4 1/2" tall & the floor is 5" above the bottom - does that mean there is a 1/2" space between the floor and the top of the toe kick??

I would say yes, but remember you need to notch out the side of your carcasses for the toekick and not having the same book that you have, I run a dado in my sides and there is 1/2 inch or so from the bottom to my toekick. Take a look at this video series, it should give you a better understanding. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F3uOkMK4UqM
The "book" was the Kreg PDF download. The pictures were just a little confusing. I looked at the kitchen cabinets I have now (store bought years ago) and the toekick is even with the front of the notch allowing the floor of the cabinet to be attached to the toekick and for a 1/8" trim (rubber or wood) to be glued across all the fronts of the base cabinet toekicks. This trim can be shaped to fit the floor. So I've been building my base cabinets with pocket holes attaching the toekick to the sides AND to the bottom (floor) of the cabinet.

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
