Not having immediate access to Kreg screws I need to know what gauge to use for 1 1/4" sheet metal screws. Can someone help please?
Thanks Robin

Her is a video I found where they used drywall screws. I would pre-drill holes first before you insert your screws so not to cause your wood to split. Drywall screws also come in hex bit and the Kreg hex drive works with the screws.

The problem with using sheet metal screws or drywall screws is that the threads go all the way up the shaft to the head. this will not allow the screw to pull the pieces of wood together properly, unless you drill the pilot hole larger than the the screw shank. Also drywall screws have a tapered head and can split the wood if pulled too tight. In a bind, I would use a #8 -1 1/4" screw, but not the best screw for the job.
