Kreg Owners' Community

Hi
I've done lots of woodworking but am new to pocket joinery. I've bought the K4 master jig. However one of my projects is to make some filing cabinets with 1/2 baltic plywood andI'm wondering if I really need to buy another jig ( Kreg KJMICRODGB Jig Micro Drill ).

I really don't want to since I won't be making many drawers like this. Can I get buy with the regular jig and and what king of screws and setup would be best?

Thanks

Elliot

Thanks for the quick reply. Why would I not use the 1" screw?
Elliot, we recommend the Micro-Pocket Drill guide for 1/2" and smaller materials. Our standard drill guide is not optimal for use with 1/2" material, especially ½” plywood since it is a little under ½”. Occasionally, when using our standard drill guide the bit can come in too steep resulting in the screw almost come out through the side of the piece instead of the end like normal. Again, you can make it work depending on your unique material, but for the best and most consistent 1/2" joints, we recommend the Micro-Pocket Drill Guide and our 3/4" screws.
