Dan,
I'd suggest affixing the 1/2" material to the 2x material vs
the 2x material to the 1/2" material.
Suggest do a search of previous posts---
enter "cornhole" in the search field, located in the upper RH corner of the page.
Perhaps others have had a similar issue, and
you may find your answer somewhere within.
Instead of 1/2" plywood, I'd suggest using 3/4". I've played on 1/2" boards and the bags tend to bounce. The 1/2" has more trampoline effect than thicker 3/4" boards. On the thicker boards, the bags land, then slide.

Thanks, I'll keep looking in previous posts. I built my set out of 1/2" plywood 2x4 and countersinking. Now that I have the kreg I want to figure it out, but no luck so far.
I built some boards with 1/2" plywood and 1 x 4 mahogany frames with 3/8" x 1/2" rabbets in the 1 x 4's. I put another 1 x 4 support under the plywood at the mid point to eliminate bounce. That reduces the weight considerably compared to 2 x 4's and 3/4 plywood.
1) Do you use a router table to cut the rabbet joints?
2) once you set the plywood into the frame how do you secure it into the frame?
Thanks in advance

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
