"Slipit"

Reduces friction on moving wood parts. Use this specially formulated, silicone-free lubricant for wooden windows, doors, drawers and any other  wood-on-wood application. Contains no petroleum distillates.

Slip-It won't gum up or cause pieces to jam, and won't harm finished wood surfaces or skin.

Can be applied to cast iron tops..

Applies easily with a paintbrush or a soft cloth pad material.

Sounds like wax is the way to go here, so I'm gonna give mine a coat of furniture paste. Thanks Ken and Michael.

As for the enjoyment of using the Dewalt saw, I do enjoy using it. It has the power I need at this time, and since my shop is actually my backyard it holds up well under the open sky. But as soon as I make some space available in an indoor shop I'm saving up for a Powermatic cabinet model. Yeah buddy!

Not had any problems with the beeswax ken ,but saying that only do a couple of times a year .I suspect the wax I use got some sort of additives in .

I use to use bees wax---however, I found that it resulted in excessive wax build-up---

lumpy spots---and some sticky areas.

(This occured when I used "pure" bees was----perhaps ot may have been made by ''fat'' bees).

(Heating the wax with a hair dryer, so as to allow the melted wax to flow evenly into a thin layer, then followed by rubbing it out).

Note:  bees wax can transfer on the wood material, resulting in complications when applying a finish to the wood.

Parafin worked better than bees wax---still may leave a residue on the wood surface, that can hinder apply a finish.

Much better results achived after applying a thin film coat of the furniture finishing paste wax.

Applying a thin coating in a circular motion, using a clean cotton cloth ---allow to set 5 minutes---and wipe off using a clean cotton cloth, 'til the haze or cloudy film is gone.

Use the "Wax On-Wax Off" Kesuke Miyagi method.

Howdy Michael. I'd be interested in finding out how the waxing idea Ken mentioned works out for you. So can you pass along your experience after you've tried it?

You see I've got me one of them there DW744XRS models, and it seems that the way Dewalt designed it's table top (some type of rough aluminum surface) prevents it from benefiting from most of the table top lubricants I've tried that seem to work well on a stainless steel table top. And since your table top looks a lot like mine, I'd be interested in finding out how the wax performs for you.

Mick,

Apply some furniture finishing wax to the "zero clearance'' insert plate and the table surface, for smoother operation.   This material does wonders on work surfaces.
