You are right about the condensation, I had to spray the whole roof using a Dow Frac-pac and then I had to removed the light fixtures and I am still working on that problem,  I tried Great Stuff and it would not stick, so now I am using Mastic which seems to have worked.  I should have posted earlier.  I had no idea how much condensation would accumulate.  It has been a  minor disaster and expensive.  Thanks for the advice

Hal,

Is the light mounted so close to the underside of your metal roof going to cause condensation issues during cold weather? I don't know what part of the country you live in or if those fixtures build up any heat, but if they do, and you have a snow load, I can see condensation building up on the underside of the metal.

At best, that would drip down and water stain the ceiling drywall. At worst, the condensation could drip down into the light fixture and possibly short it out, possibly causing a fire!

You might want to look at lowering the fixtures and adding solid foam insulation. Another alternative would be to lower the light after screwing a piece of sheet metal and then spraying foam in between that and the roof.

Sorry to seem so pessimistic, but as a firefighter, I've seen to many fires started this way.

I do however, love the look of these fixtures! Nice work. Well done!

Cheers!

Dave
