I originally started with the Kregg, but I do mostly smaller flags which the Kregg is overkill and there is an risk of wood splitting/cracking. I now just glue the strips together before gluing and stapling four straps along the back. You can Kregg the straps together but make sure you stagger the screws at least 5 or 6 inches apart to minimize risk of splitting. I make my flag stripes and back straps 1/2 thick as I like the flags to hug the wall. There are several YouTube videos of how to build the flags using the Kregg or the method I have now switched over to. Don't get me wrong though, I use the heck out of my Kregg.

Beautiful and patriotic. I'd like to see how you do this. I'm a beginner to working with my hands, not a lot of confidence, but now I have a Kreg

Jig settings for 2 ¾ x 1 ½ boards with 30 degree miters?
