Kreg Owners' Community

High all,

My first posting on this board. I'm just putting together a shop area in my basement. I have a mitre saw on its own stand, Kreg router table, and a 10" drill press and now my Dewalt 7480 Table saw looking for a place in my plan. I'm looking to build a work table for all sort of uses, 3' x 6' basically, that I can seat it at one end. I've seen many pics on Pintrest of this setup but none of them had their fences on. My base is only 13"x30", but with the fence on and extended to 24" the rails extend to the right several inches, and I don't see that built in to any one of their plans. Am I missing something? Should I open up the area to its right, to let me use the fence in this way?

Thanks in advance.

Bill

Bill,

After researching the model saw you own, I think you hit the nail on the head.  To be able to use the fence to its maximum capacity you need to either open up the area to the right or mount your saw to the extreme right of the table, allowing for the fence to be extended.

Hi Bill,

I have a similar DeWalt Saw. Take a look at the work bench I have posted on this site. Search for mobile work bench.    http://kregjig.ning.com/photo/albums/mobile-work-bench   Something like this may work?

Is there a remote change you still have the plans for that bench? I have a garage that is tightly packed to work in. I need something small and portable to help with the Saw Stop I am about to buy.

I appreciate you doing this. rebender_1@verizon.net

Thanks!

I am actualy building a bench similar to what you are describing. I saw the same pictures on pintrest and thought the same thing about the fence rail. what I am doing is I dropped the entire end of the bench lower so there isn't anything on either side of the table saw. I am then building a fold up top on the right side for use with wider cuts. when folded down i can use the stock fence. sorry i don't have pics yet. will post them when i finish it all up.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
