Truck style coffee table with hidden drawers.

Thanks for all of the compliments. Here are some detailed photos to show how the drawer slides are attached. There are four slides for the top and two per drawer. I made the chest to coordinate with a sectional sofa my wife wanted so it's big; 68" x 34" x 19" high. You could make it smaller to accommodate your space and furnishings.
You said you don't have plans. Can you at least give the dimensions?
Hi Mike
Great looking coffee table. I especially like the sliding top. You mention that you used four ball bearing drawer slides. Unable to see how you mounted them. I can see the inside drawer mounts, but I'm not sure how you did the top mounting. Other then that, I should be able to make a similar table from your photos. Again, great job.
Thanks
Larry
This is so great. My wife saw it and is wondering how the top is sliding back?
Thats really nice.
Thanks for the compliments, guys.
Jay-there are no plans available for this, I designed it myself and made modifications along the way. I used spruce panels from a local home center for the sides and top. 2x2 poplar boards make up the corners with pocket screws and glue holding it together. The bottom and divider are 3/4" birch plywood. The top is mounted with four ball bearing drawer slides. The finish is two parts; the first step is provincial color and then I used a willow stain over that. I will post some detailed pics so you can see how it goes together.
This turned out both beautiful and functional. Very slick design. Well done Mike!

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
