In watching the Woodsmith show on PBS, they talk and use double sided tape to hold patterns temporary. It looks like about 2" wide and thin. I can't find anything like at the HD. Any ideas or help?

Thanks

Double-stick tapes are available, in various thickness.

A single layer, with adhesive on both sides of a very thin plyable film strip, are suitable for very smooth surfaces, like paper, glass, office supplies, and the like

There are double-stick tapes, that feature a layer of foam material---

the adhesive is applied on both sides of the foam.

Some are labeled "Double-Sided Mounting Tape".

Foam thickness varies, and is intended for specific purposes, as indicated by the OEM.

The double-stick 1" wide tape, offered by Rockler, has a very thin film of foam,

making it ideal for applications, such as wood.

It can be cut to 1" inch lengths and placed in intermitent locations on an object, very using a continuous strip along the work-piece.

I find this tape very effective for securing templates to wood or metal.

It has a very high resistance to slippage and peel.

There is also double-stick tapes that have an Ultra-High-Bond adhesive,

that has a ultra-thin strip of foam.  This product is offered by 3M.

Before applying tapes, remove all dust, loose material, from the surface where the tape is applied.

On metal surfaces, do a final cleaning with rubbing alcohol---allow it to dry before applying the tape.
