Kreg Owners' Community

Okay,

so I'm not the most active person here but in the two years since I bought my first Kreg tool I have fallen in love with them and now have at least one of most of the small tools.

I bought an AutoMaxx bench clamp and due to my stupidity I have lost the adjusting screw.

I contacted Kreg customer serv. and asked where I could get the screw, and they said they'd send me one. Well Kreg being the awesome company that they are, just sent me a whole new clamp.

While this assures I will be a faithful customer for life, I still have an Automaxx Clamp with the only thing wrong with it is it needs an adjustment screw!

So, does anyone know what thread what thread that screw is? And bonus points for a source.

Mark,

Take the clamp with you to a local hardward store---

see if they can provide you with a suitable alternate screw that will suffice.

Ken, that is a good idea, it looks to be something pretty non-standard, but Ace has a lot, who knows?

Mark,

Ace has the largest selection of fasteners to chose from, that you can see and touch.

They have a screw thread guide, SAE and Metric, near the threaded fastener section,  so as to obtain the proper thread pitch, to fit your needs.

When you select one from the bin, double check it on the gauge---sometimes I find several mixed up.

Also check automotive supply stores, and bike repair shops---

sometimes you can find a good selection of various threaded fasters, that you can't find elsewhere.

This is a very handy thread checker tool, that I keep in my shop,

as well as this type thread pitch gauge.
