Hi Jay , just to say the photo was just to show the Kreg mitre gauge on the Dewalt table saw . In hindsight not the best scenario, but I did not turn the saw on I am aware of the kickback scenario . Thank you for pointing this out though as safety is paramount and I for one appreciate your opinion go steady , Mick!!
Michael not to butt into your business but I hope you are not cutting full depth cut offs with this set up the way the photo is showing. If you do that is one of the best ways to get a kick back as the cut off piece becomes trapped between the blade and the fence. When the material is cut is finished it is at the rear of the blade where still trapped by the fence on the one end it can move slightly towards the blade where the material can catch a blade tooth and lifts upward climbing on too of the spinning blade is is then thrown back in a violent kick back.
I often use the fence to set the length but always make sure that the fence if moved away from the end before I make the cut with a miter guage and or even a table sled.

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
