You know, I owned this jig for a month before I discovered that there is a holder underneath the jig that holds the bit and driver. Maybe I missed it but no where did I read anything about this in the manual or online descriptions. I think its a really good feature that should be shown.

Here is an idea for you all.

I always have very small magnets in my shop. You can get them cheap on ebay. They come in all sizes.

Attach them to the top steel part of Kreg Jig and presto, you have a place to "stick" your drill bit, allen wrench, etc. They can't get lost or mislocated.

I am glad I found it. Space in my shop is at a very high premium. I like being able to store the jig back into the case and put it on a shelf. Being able to store the bit and driver underneath it is real convenient for me. They don't get banged around against each other or other tools.
I used to actually misplace them - Now I never forget where they are.

I guess I will have to unmount my jig and see what's under there. Of course, I like having my jig bolted to a 2 x 4 so I can hang it up withing easy reach.

So, if you store your driver and bit there, then forget where you put them, then attach the base to the bench, the storage is permanent...??? At first, I thought this was an engineering oversight...Then I thought it was marketing genius! Only, with me, you'd have to keep selling me a base for my new bits, to keep me storing the bits there, to keep me forgetting, to keep me... The Kreg engineering team is great! I keep buying screws every discount coupon Rockler sends me. My twenty-pair shoe/boot rack [it's not that, at 60, I'm entitled a la Imelda Marcos, just that I never threw any out], I used half a box of 1.5" fasteners. I use them even when I'm not using pockets. And the 3/8" step drill bit is perfect for the Rockler dowel jig!

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
