Open view. I added a pull out desk top, a drawer and shelves. I also lined the interior doors with cork tiles so that I can tack items for easy access and hide away when finished.

Thanks Cheryl and I have seen your work and you ARE at this level!!   I went in with the idea that I wanted to give it a try and yes, there were do overs, questions asked and books and videos studied.   It is not perfect but it is perfect enough for me (big grin).   Just do what you love and the rest will follow.

My goodness Rita, that is some stellar work.  It is beautiful inside out, I'm going to be thrilled when I'm at this level of craftsmanship.

Rita you have really master your craft after the last several years from a novice woodwork. Very nice work. Is this made out of plywood?

Thanks Ken,  The cabinet is made from 3/4 inch oak ply.  The door panel inserts are 1/4 inch ply.   They did not appear to be as good of quality that I had from the 3/4 inch and seemed to take the finish differently as well.

Oh and Jim, I finished with 2 coats of Golden Oak Danish oil.  I let it cure for about a week and then added 3 coats of satin wipe on poly for additional durability.  I liked working with the Danish oil but it does carry a odor!

Rita,

The grain patterns look fine.

Thank you very much Jim.   I simply used double sided tape to install the cork tiles.   I figured if they ever get tattered or worn, I can replace or add something new.   The black edging is tape also.  It is a light weight craft tape called washi.   Not sure of the durability so we shall see.  I just added it to hide raw edges from the cut tiles.

Thanks Mick,   still very much a amateur but I am getting better.   On this one I wish I had paid more attention to grain patterns.   I was concentrating so hard on fit that I didn't have the whole picture in my head.  Still,  I will keep her!

Thank you Mr David!    I had worried at a few points that I had taken on more than I could manage but overall, I am pleased with the way it turned out.
