Kreg Owners' Community

We apologize to anyone that got spam messages today. We had one slip through and get their membership approved.

Her membership has been deleted.

We hope you know that we work hard to protect this community from spammers and others who might want to join for reasons that aren't true to the purpose of the site. We make new members answer questions and we have to approve them--which we do daily--so nobody gets in "automatically."

This helps us catch most people and the "search bots." On occasion, though, someone gives seemingly legitimate answers, but is joining for the wrong reasons. When that happens, we delete their membership as quickly as possible. You often help us with this by letting us know when you see spammers out there. And, of course, we keep a watchful eye on this community 7 days a week.

So, why are spammers interested in us woodworkers and DIYers? Sure, we're awesome, but that's not the reason. They see a community with this many members, and it's like waving bacon in front of a hungry dog. They simply can't resist. Then, they try to bait you into communications, etc.

Back to those numbers: We are thrilled that you have made the Kreg Owners' Community into a vibrant, active, respected, large, and growing online community. We appreciate your willingness to share, seek out, advise, and complement one another. You're a great bunch, and we're proud that we are able to provide a place where you can do what you do so well. We give you the meeting place, but YOU make it a community. For that, everyone here at Kreg says thank you!

Yea, and Spam sucks unless you load it down with ketchup (or is it Catsup?)!

Another one got through, please remove , JIM !!!!!!!!!!

Get rid of one and, another just appeared a few minutes ago!

Also, listed as a "TOP MEMBER OF THE WEEK!"

It appears Kreg lists anyone as a top member!

Make a bunch of posts and get on the list---

even a SPAMMER.

Been going on for hours , guess that is why she made it on the top member list, needs to be removed now !!!

This "member" is now gone.

Actually, we don't rate the members for "member of the week." The site does that automatically based on the number of posts.

Yes, we hate it when someone slips through. Obviously we missed the West Africa location, or they wouldn't have been let in.
